Thank you Powersquad coaches!

10th June 2021

Our mission at Goal Power is to empower young people in football, whether that’s helping them to build confidence and skills in playing the game, or encouraging them to get involved in many other often overlooked, yet vital to the sport roles such as refereeing and coaching.

Last week we ran our first ever school holiday camp in partnership with Rugby Borough Women & Girls FC and we couldn’t have done it without our three very important, absolutely brilliant and inspiring young volunteer coaches – Marianne, Oliver and Charlie!

Our three teenage superstars all play football themselves and their enthusiasm, at their age, to coach and develop their skills and knowledge as coaches amazes us and fills us with pride that they are part of our Powersquad!

They are a prime example of how we’d like to inspire young players to expand their involvement in the beautiful game – it’s not always about playing as there are so many important roles to make matches possible and if we can get more youngsters to build their experience and do their qualifications in coaching we can help to address a much felt shortage.

Qualifying as a coach isn’t just a case of taking exams – the FA require hours of experience too so providing the opportunity to gain volunteer time is the least we can do as Goal Power.

Well done Marianne, Oliver and Charlie – you were amazing at camp and you should be so proud of yourselves – we know we are!!
