We were delighted to welcome Tottenham Hotspur defender Kerys Harrop to Rugby on Friday to meet our Goal Power players!
Kerys played with our head coach Cheryl at Birmingham City so Kerys jumped at the chance to help us out by paying us a visit to inspire our girls.
Our Solihull and Rugby players don’t often train together but with Kerys visiting we had a combined Goal Power Elite session at our Rugby centre, the home of Rugby Borough Women & Girls FC.
Kerys chatted to our players before joining in with the session with our girls. The girls were completely un-phased by having a professional play taking part and weren’t shy about putting in the tackles and showing off their skills.
As the Rugby Borough Women & Girls players were also training at the same time, Cheryl took Kerys around to each team so they could have a chance to meet and chat to her. We finished off the evening with a team photo and a Q&A with Kerys where our aspiring footballers could find out more about what its like to play professionally. Kerys also wowed the girls by bringing out her England cap and letting some of the girls try it on.
There was a real buzz at Kilsby Lane with Kerys there, the girls didn’t stop talking about her after she left. She certainly left her mark and inspired our players!
A huge thank you to Kerys for taking time to visit us and our players!
